Description

Essex Rotary brings you our lightweight under drive 4 pulley kit, this kit replaces all 3 main pulleys  and the power steering found on the RX-7 FD’s 13b-REW engine.

What are Underdrive Pulleys?

Under-drive pulleys reduce the potential for Water Pump cavitation and over working of the Alternator at the high RPM ranges the Rotary Engine can operate at.

These Lightweight Pulleys are CNC machined from super light but extremely strong 6061-T6 Aluminium Alloy. reducing rotational weight from the crank and associated ancillaries will theoretically frees up horsepower normally used to turn/rotare the heavier pulleys and ancillaries (though Essex Rotary make no claim to proven HP gains when using under drive kits)

Cavitation

Cavitation is a process where by your water pump impeller acts like a “whisk” at high RPM beating air bubbles in to the coolant mixture, this process dramatically reduces coolant efficiency as the increasing cavitation effect reduces coolant flow around the engine.

What you get?

Each kit comes with 2 new genuine Gates drive belts, one for your alternator and water pump and a second to drive your power steering pump, as the OEM size belts will no longer fit.

Please note these belts are selected for engines running no air pump or AC, Please contact us if you require a different variation.
