Exedy’s Hyper -Series Multi-Tin Plate Clutch and Flywheel Kit

In 1995 EXEDY supplied carbon clutches to Ferrari for use in the pinnacle of motorsport, Formula One. This same technology is now applied to carbon clutches developed by EXEDY for use in various driving conditions, providing an explosive shift feeling and dramatic improvement in engine response.

Through an improved redesign of the cover shape and using a lightweight flywheel we have improved the response and achieved a reduction of total car weight. For example, a full carbon triple clutch on a Nissan R32 is almost half the weight of the vehicles genuine part.

The EXEDY Hyper Multi-Twin Plate kits offer gear drivability with a nice pedal feel that it not overly heavy.

For high-powered applications, the EXEDY multi plate clutch is capable of handling a variety of road and motorsport applications.

All Hyper Series clutches come with a chromoly steel flywheel and forged aluminium clutch cover, which has no clamp load deflection as found in a pressed metal cover.

The EXEDY Hyper Multi clutch is available as either a twin plate (Hyper Multi Twin) or triple plate (Hyper Multi Triple).

The Discs in these Hyper Twin plates are cerametallic.
Multi-Twin benefits include

• Capable of handling high torque capacities while retaining comfortable drivability.
• Cushion function allows for the bite point to be twice as large when compared to alternative brands (PAT).
• Self levelling intermediate plate design reduced gearbox rattle and increases the disengagement performance (PAT).
• Unique intermediate plate deign increases heat resistance which improves clutch life.
• 20% to 30% reduction in inertia over the original equipment.

Pull Type Clutch Cusioning Function (PAT.)

The cushion function is an innovation unique to EXEDY. The half engaged zone is expanded as a result of a decrease in rigidity of the pivot ring. Ideal pedal effort is achieved as a result of a longer lever ratio of the diaphragm spring coupled with the cushion reaction force.

This Clutch Kit is rated to hold the following power

• 810 Nm/600 lb.ft. flywheel torque
• 650Nm/480 lb.ft. wheel torque

• 1 FD3s Compatible Automatic Counterweight

We would also recommend replacing the clutch pilot bearing and seal when you are working on this.
