Essex Rotaty FD3s Throttle Body Wax Pellet Delete Plate

Description

This blanking plate is used when deleting the thermowax pellet in order to “simplify” the FD3s throttle body, or if you have already bypassed the throttle body coolant passage then the thermowax pellet is rendered useless.

The job of the thermowax pellet is to slowly adjust the stop position of the throttle body butterflies dependent on engine coolant temperature. and to help provide sufficient air flow for the engines fast idle during warm up. This is achieved by exposing the thermowax pellet itself to engine coolant that rund through the throttle body.
The coolant outlet on the rear (firewall side) of the throttle body is actually attached to this mechanism.

If you have removes coolant flow from the throttle body then you want also look at removing this part. slight adjustment to the arm will be required, some people safety wire this arm slightly open.

This blanking plate can then be used to remove and blank off that section of the throttle body.

When removing the thermowax pellet you would need to give the engine a little more time to warm up prior to driving it hard in order to ensure you will be getting the correct airflow.

This blanking plate as with all of our plates is Precision CNC Laser cut from 5mm Stainless Steel with and finished so there are no sharp edges.
